We all need truckers, right? They are the life blood of this nation. I really am impressed and thankful that they deliver our food and everything we need… right to our neighborhoods. Have you ever heard the Jim Croce song, Speedball Tucker? Love that song, Jim, and truckers! thank you guys (and gals!).
BAD WEATHER
These photos are from an ice storm in Dallas several years ago. The truckers were delayed just 3 days, and this is what happened… my main concern was the lack of avocados… but that’s just me. Gotta have my guac!

But really, the main threat to anyone’s food is lack of funds, due to medical costs, lack of employment or under employment, Murphy surprises, and the like. Truckers usually can get the food through almost any sort of weather surprise. They are built that way….
WHAT IS FOOD STORAGE?
I have opinions (are you surprised?) and categorize food storage into 2 main categories: short term & long term. Basically meaning the difference in shelf life. Short term food storage lasts for up to 2 years. Long term food storage lasts for longer than that.
